The Bahraini Farmers’ Market

The organizing committee of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market announced that the market welcomed 10,461 visitors during its opening week, following its launch last Saturday under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sairafi, Minister of Tourism. The event was held in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development.

The 10th edition of the Farmers’ Market included the participation of 31 farmers, 4 agricultural companies, 5 nurseries, 4 apiaries, 4 date specialized vendors and 20 local productive families in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs and Chairman of the Farmers’ Market organizing committee, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Abdul Karim, stated: “The strong turnout during the first week of the market’s opening reflects the continued popularity of the Farmers’ Market and its associated activities. What is particularly gratifying is that attendance is no longer limited to Bahraini citizens; we are witnessing a notable presence of residents as well as visitors from nearby countries.

Dr. Abdulaziz further emphasized that the success achieved in the first week places a collective responsibility on all stakeholders to intensify their efforts to sustain this success, drive further development, and elevate the market’s standards. This, in turn, reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s distinguished stature while also reinforcing ongoing efforts to advance the agricultural sector within the Kingdom.
